January PhotosTerm has gotten off to a great start, and we are back in the swing of things. Here are a few pics and descriptions. Jan 14 was outreach day and our dorm signed up to pick up trash on the road that leads to Kijabe. Picking up trash is a foreign concept in Kenya, and in the country there is no such thing as garbage collection, so most people just burn their trash or throw it on the ground. Several Kenyans commented later that the road looked so clean and they were so impressed by the RVA kids that they felt inspired to teach their own school children the concept of service. The next series of pictures is from Titchie field day. In January, the field day is always a water field day since this is the hottest and driest time of the year. In fact they told us that it has never rained on this day…that is, until this year’s field day. It was so cold!!! Oh and by the way, I (David) signed up to be one of the unfortunate one to sit in the dunking booth. Jan 22 was Titchie Sunday, so the kids got to perform in the service and conduct much of what went on (see last three pics). Click on the photos for a full-sized picture.
