On Jan 13, we took our dorm to our local church for outreach day, where the
kids served a meal and dessert for the elderly in the community. Towards the end
a man stood to speak who was 89 years old. He told of the first missionaries
coming to this community and teaching him “Jesus Loves Me” in Kikuyu when he was
a child. This was a very exciting event for the local people, and they all came
out dressed in their Sunday best.

Kijabe is normally very hot and dry in January, but thanks to El Nino, there was plenty of opportunity to play in the mud. Here are Sarah and Allana. |

We did manage to have sunshine for Titchie water field day on Jan 20. On this
day there are many very fun water game followed by a huge water slide.

Kijabe is a land of very strange sports games. This term is the term to play
tennis baseball.

On February 17, all of the Titchie dorms took an outing to a local water slide
park. This is always a fun event which all the kids look forward to. Despite all
the rain that we have had, it was a very sunny day (we had to convince Karissa
to stop praying for rain and pray for sun on this day). God seems to listen to
her. Despite the application of copious amounts of sun screen, there were quite
a few red backs when we left.
